-Twelve Students Received Sir Edward Youde Memorial Scholarships
--十二学生获尤德爵士纪念基金奖学金

The Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund held its 25th concert-cum-prize presentation ceremony on 11 March. This year a total of 12 CUHK students were awarded the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fellowships and Scholarships. To celebrate the silver jubilee of the fund, Dr. Ip Kim-ho, alumnus of the CUHK Music Department, volunteered to compose a piece of music which was performed by the Hong Kong Young Musicians’ Wind Orchestra to kick off the event. Dr. Ip graduated from CUHK with a first-class Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree and received the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fellowship for Overseas Studies in 1997 to further his studies in music in the UK. During the past years, over 700 CUHK students have been granted different awards under the fund.

尤德爵士纪念基金于3月11日举行第二十五届奖学金颁奖典礼暨音乐会，今年有十二名中大生获奖。 为庆祝基金银禧周年，中大音乐系校友叶剑豪博士义务创作了一首乐曲，邀请香港青年管乐演奏家乐团作序幕演奏。叶博士以一级荣誉毕业后，于1997年获颁尤德爵士纪念基金海外研究生奖学金，赴笈英国继续进修音乐。基金成立迄今，获颁不同奖项的中大生已逾七百名。

-中大工程学生创意无限　小科学家获奖无数

香港中文大学（中大）机械与自动化工程学系一年级学生梁润谊同学，上月参加了互联网专业协会主办的“全城写Apps．公共资料应用比赛”，以作品“路路通”夺得学生组 － 概念开发组银奖。梁同学自初中起已热衷于发明各种便利日常生活的设计，凭着无限创意屡获奖誉，至今已夺约二十项本地或国际科技赛事的殊荣。

-I．CARE博群计划　支持本地、内地、海外生携手服务社区　传扬爱与关怀

CLOVER, a campus-wide cultural diversity cum voluntary service programme in which local, mainland and overseas students at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) join hands in the provision of community services to needy people, on 11 April concluded with a jubilant closing ceremony. Having just finished its third year, CLOVER received a funding support of HK$100,000 from the I．CARE Programme in 2011, allowing some 70 students to study local social issues and organize a wide variety of services and activities for newly-arrived children, South Asian minorities, the elderly and the developmentally disabled, serving a total of more than 200 beneficiaries.

香港中文大学(中大)“友凝．友义”文化交流暨义工计划今4月11日在欢欣满载的典礼中圆满结束。这项计划于去年第三度举办，旨在团结本地、内地及海外学生携手服务社会上有需要的人士，并获I．CARE博群计划资助港币十万元，让七十名中大学生探讨本地社会不同议题，并分别为新来港儿童、南亚裔家庭、长者及肢体伤残人士筹划各式各样的服务，受惠人数达二百多人。

-Victory for Rugby Teams
-榄球比赛男女子队报捷

The CUHK Men’s Rugby Team clinched the championship again this year in the University Sports Federation of Hong Kong Rugby Competition. The CUHK Women’s Team also performed outstandingly and was the first runner-up in the competition. The finals were held at Sandy Bay Sports Ground on 18 March.

中大男子榄球队卫冕成功，今年再次赢得香港大专体育协会榄球比赛冠军。女子队亦成绩骄人，赢得亚军。比赛于3月18日在沙湾径球场举行，中大队员均训练有素，英姿飒飒，比拼体育技巧与合作精神。

-CUHK Shines in Taekwondo Competition
-中大跆拳道队创佳绩

The CUHK taekwondo team clinched three gold, three silver, and three bronze medals in the competitions organized by the University Sports Federation of Hong Kong on 17 and 18 March, including the overall women’s first runners-up. Motivated by the team captain and the coach, the team members have paid much effort to undergo the harsh training for two consecutive months and finally their hard work was rewarded.

中大跆拳道队于3月17及18日举行的大专杯赛事共取得三面金牌、三面银牌、三面铜牌，女子组更获得团体亚军。有赖教练的激励及队长的支持，校队成员为是次比赛接受了连续两个月的特训，汗水和斗心成就了是次佳绩。

在中大的四年本科，是一个令我眼界大开的广阔旅程：

大二暑假，我在美国佛罗里达州的迪士尼乐园做了三个月的暑期实习；

大三和大四，又先后在美国东岸的一所大学和北京大学做交换学生。

中大的校门，不仅为我开启了世界的大舞台，更通往无数种人生的可能性。毕业后，我直接从会计本科转到法学院修读法律博士。今年9月便要开始在香港的一家美国律师所工作，儿时的律师梦终成现实。所有的这一切，都源于我十八岁那年，报读香港中文大学的重要决定。我很庆幸当时的自己把握住了这个让我的人生从此不同的契机。

-内地招生Q&A

问：	中文大学是采用学年制还是学分制？
答：	中文大学是采用灵活学分制的。同学通常用4年完成大学规定的最少123个学分毕业。

问：	香港中文大学设有那些专业供内地考生报读？
答：	香港中文大学专业设置分「全额奖学金类」、「免学费奖学金类」、「人文类」、「理科类」、「工科类」及「商科类」六项。「奖学金类」已包括人文、理科、工科、商科四个门类，获录取学生可于入学时选择其中一学科门类。 人文类包括文学院、教育学院、法律学院及社会科学院；理科类为医学院及理学院；工科类为工程学院；商科类为工商管理学院。

问：	中文大学会为内地本科生安排怎么样的课程？
答：	学生来校报到注册后即成为正式本科生，入学时就其所属人文、理科、工科、商科专业大类的相关学系中选择并提出专业意愿。学生于第一学年修习所选择主修专业的基础科目，及其它通识、语文等课程，利用第一年时间了解自己的专业兴趣，适应新的学习及考试模式。按个别学系安排，学生可于第一或第二学年确定主修专业。
